Elisabeth Shue

Elisabeth Shue first got noticed waaaay back in the 80's when she played the role of the hot daughter on the TV series "Call to Glory" and also showed up in the original "The Karate Kid". She followed that up with an extended series of movie roles including "Adventures in Babysitting" and a couple of the "Back to the Future" flix.

Elisabeth really struck it big with her role as the prostitute in "Leaving Las Vegas", earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. She took advantage of the publicity from that success by...doing almost nothing (this strategy is known as both the "Elisabeth Shue Plan" and the "Helen Hunt Plan"). Pretty much disappeared from the scene as she headed into her 40's.
